Canoeing, Kayaking and Stand-up Paddleboarding (SUPs)
The Wye Valley is one of the finest paddlesports destinations in the country, offering stunning scenery and varied water that suits everyone from complete beginners to confident paddlers. Whether you prefer the independence of a single-person kayak, the shared experience of a traditional canoe, or the relaxed challenge of stand-up paddleboarding, we have a paddlesport for you.
Forest Adventure operates on the most scenic stretches of the River Wye, from calm, gentle water to exciting, fast-flowing rapids. All sessions begin with a comprehensive safety briefing and practical instruction in kayak, canoe, or paddleboard control, delivered by our experienced instructors. We offer half-day and full-day guided trips, with barrels for personal equipment and packed lunches available on request.
Throughout your session, you’ll develop essential flat-water skills and moving-water techniques, all taught through fun, confidence-building activities and games. For those looking to progress further, we can support training towards Progressive Paddles awards, part of the nationally recognised British Canoeing award scheme.
Kayaks
Single-person, enclosed boats paddled with a double-bladed paddle. Ideal for individuals who enjoy control, speed, and independence.
Canoes
Traditional open boats for two to three people, paddled with single-bladed paddles. Perfect for teamwork, shared journeys, and carrying equipment.
Stand-Up Paddleboards (SUPs)
Stable boards paddled while standing, kneeling, or sitting. Offering a fun and accessible way to explore the river while building balance, confidence, and core strength.
